I am truly interested in learning and experiencing, and although I realize the vast majority of undergraduate post secondary schools offer pre packaged majors... I also know that some of them do not. In other words, some schools are structured to be generally unstructured, take for example, a first impression of evergreen college in Olympia washington and you will see that there are schools offering learning that is not pre packaged. I am currently looking for other schools like this one, ones where the teachers teach though seminars, workshops, field trips and relating. They teach what is relevant, what is changing, what is needed. (not to say other post secondary schools don't offer this, but take Evergreen for example, they offer often completely different classes every year!) They don't just teach a curriculum so the student can get the courses they "need" to get a degree. Do you all understand what I am saying? I hope so, because it leads to my question.
Besides the experience of life, with all its lessons, where else are you going to study? Be it anywhere in the world... I am interested to know about some of the programs out there that are offering an oppurtunity to take part in a community that is aiming for something a bit different than your "standard post secondary insititute."
Feel free to comment on some of your friends' experiences as well... I truly believe this is a topic we all can benifit from!
love and light!
